Getting started
What is Living Heritage?
A walking companion for Ajmer, Pushkar and Kishangarh: places and their histories, audio guides in English and Hindi, an AI guide you can chat with, route planning between sites, and a guide to the Pushkar Mela. You don't need an account.
How do I switch between English and Hindi?
Open the menu on the Home screen → Settings → Language, and choose EN or हि.
Location & maps
The app doesn’t show where I am or what’s nearby.
Allow location for Living Heritage while you use the app:
- Android: Settings → Apps → Living Heritage → Permissions → Location → Allow only while using the app.
- iPhone: Settings → Living Heritage → Location → While Using the App.
Location is optional — the app works without it, but distances, nearby suggestions and directions from where you are need it.
Can I use the map without internet?
Yes. In the app go to Settings → Map → Offline maps and download the region before you set out. Walks you've opened recently also keep their photos and audio on your phone. The AI guide, route planning and live directions need an internet connection.
The AI guide
How does the AI guide work?
Its answers and route plans are written by OpenAI's models, through our own server. The first time you use it, the app explains what is sent and asks for your permission. You can turn it off any time in Settings → AI guide. See our Privacy Policy for the details.
An answer was wrong or offensive.
Tap the flag under that reply, choose what's wrong and tap Send report — our team reviews every report. AI can make mistakes, so please double-check opening hours, fees and timings locally before you go.
Audio & reminders
The audio guide stops when I lock my phone.
Narration keeps playing in the background, with controls in your notifications. If your phone still stops it, set Living Heritage's battery usage to Unrestricted (Android: Settings → Apps → Living Heritage → Battery).
My Pushkar Mela reminders don’t arrive.
Open the fair → My Mela plan, turn reminders on, and allow notifications for Living Heritage when your phone asks (or later in your phone's notification settings).
Privacy & your data
How do I delete my chat history?
In the Chat tab, tap the history icon at the top left. Delete one conversation, or tap Clear all conversations. Chats are only ever stored on your phone.
How do I ask you to delete my data?
Almost everything the app keeps stays on your phone — uninstalling removes it. For anything we hold, such as a report you sent or a waitlist email, write to hello@adaptiv.me. Our Privacy Policy explains everything we collect.
Updates
The app says I need to update.
Tap the update button on that screen to open the store page, install the latest version, then reopen the app.
